Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications (VUS), non-profit organization, is the leading R&D centre for electronic communications and postal services in Slovakia. VUS performs project based activities in selected areas of electronic communications and postal services. Using well-equipped accredited laboratories, VUS provides testing and special measurements for various customers including metrology services. Its wide scope of activities covers also technical standardization and other services focused on frequency planning, statistical surveys, consultancy services and many other issues.
VUS is a prominent research institution involved in performing key activities for bodies of public administration and regulation in the sector of electronic communications. Results of R&D projects produced by VUS for the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic make a significant contribution in the preparation of conceptions, strategic and developmental documents, new legislation, shaping and promoting state policy in electronic communications sector in Slovakia. VUS also provides technical assistance for Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services. In addition, VUS provides technical services for providers of electronic communications networks and services.
The main objective of VUS is to react promptly to fast technological development and fully satisfy increasing needs of customers both in public and private sphere.
