The applied research and development fall into main activities of the Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications. The R&D is focused on projects solved in the area of electronic communications, postal services, intelligent transport systems, e-government and other related areas.

The research and development are oriented on:

• Execution of activities for public sector (Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic, Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic, Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services, etc.),
• Solutions of needs for business sector.

The outputs take the form of studies, analyses, strategies, methodologies, prognoses and technical specifications.
